Goals for 2009

Originally I planned to buy a house early next year, but after speaking to a financial advisor, I was encouraged not to.

So during the year of 2009, to be better prepared for purchasing a home, I will hold myself responsible for accomplishing these goals:

1. Pay of all CC debt, which isn't much.. - and pay cash for everything from here on out, OR pay off CC balance each month.
2. Focus on saving for a downpayment on a house
3. Reduce unneccesary costs, and contribute more to EF.

    Sounds good. I'm in the same boat I will start saving for my downpayment for a house later on this year. I will be debt free in 3/2 months.

    Welcome! I've been breaking my 2009 goals into smaller, monthly goals--some months I ask quite a lot of myself, while others, I let myself off easy. Either way, I know what, if anything, I'm supposed to do that month, and it keeps me motivated and focused. You might want to try it. Your big-picture goals sound great, though--congrats on not having much CC debt!
